Ingredients

  • 1 pt. scallops (1 pound)
  • 1/2 pound mushrooms
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 c. light cream
  • 2 T flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon grnd pepper
  • 1/2 c. dry bread crumbs

Directions

  1. Clean scallops. Wash and slice mushrooms. Heat 2 tsp butter and saute mushrooms for 5 min. Make cream sauce with 2 tbsp butter and 2 tbsp flour. Cook 5 min. Slowly add in cream, salt and pepper. Heat remaining butter and saute bread crumbs. Put together scallops with mushroom and cream sauce. Place in shallow buttered baking dish. Top with buttered crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 min. Add in nutmeg and white wine, perhaps toasted almonds slivers, too.
