Ingredients

  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 c. canola oil
  • 1/2 c. granulated sugar
  • 1/3 c. white vinegar
  • 2 pkt beef flavoring from ramen noodles
  • 2 x (3 oz) pkgs. ramen noodles broken and roasted in oven at 350 for 5 min.
  • 1 c. roasted sunflower seeds
  • 1 c. slivered almonds toasted in 350 oven about 5 min
  • 1 head cabbage finely shredded or possibly
  • 2 x (10-oz) pkgs. finely shredded cabbage
  • 2 c. finely minced red cabbage
  • 1 bn green onions minced
  • 2 x carrots peeled and grated

Directions

  1. For the dressing: Combine sesame oil, canola oil, sugar, vinegar, and seasoning packets. Allow to sit overnight, making sure granules are dissolved.
  2. For the salad: Mix ramen noodles, sunflower seeds, and almonds. In a separate container, combine shredded cabbages, onion, and carrot. Just before serving, combine cabbage mix, noodle/nut mix, and dressing.
