Ingredients

  • 6 c. baby spinach and torn romaine lettuce, mixed
  • 3/4 c. mayonnaise
  • 3/4 c. granulated sugar (175 ml)
  • 1/4 c. skim lowfat milk (60 ml)
  • 2 Tbsp. white vinegar (30 ml)
  • 2 Tbsp. poppyseeds (30 ml)
  • 1 c. strawberries, sliced (250 ml)
  • 1/2 c. Grand Marnier liqueur (125 ml)
  • 1 x red onion, sliced

Directions

  1. Wash and dry the spinach and lettuce. Place in a salad bowl and refrigeratetill ready to serve.
  2. To make the dressing, combine mayonnaise, sugar, lowfat milk, vinegar, and poppyseeds in a blender or possibly with a whisk till smooth. Refrigerate1 hour.
  3. Marinate strawberries in liqueur 1 hour.
  4. Drain berries; mix with greens. Pour dressing over the salad to taste or possibly serve separately. Top with onion to garnish.
