Ingredients

  • 1 x your favorite crust. I use Pillsbury Ready Made Pie Crust.
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 4 Tbsp. sugar
  • 4 Tbsp. Brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. corn syrup
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 4 x Granny Smith apples
  • 1 Tbsp. butter, chilled
  • 2 Tbsp. corn starch

Directions

  1. Mix the filling by mixing together cinnamon, sugar, brown sugar, corn syrup, corn starch, and salt. Thinly slice apples (you will need 2 c. for this recipe) and place proportionately in pie pan. Sprinkle cinnamon and sugar mix over apples. Cut butter into small pcs and place on top. Place top crust on pie and trim, allowing about 1/4 inch of dough to hang over the edge of the pan.
  2. Presstogether top and bottom and bake for 1 hour at 375 . Praline Topping1/2 c. stick butter - unsalted1/2 c. packed brown sugar2 Tbsp. whipping cream1/2 c. minced pecans
  3. Preheat oven to 450 . Heat butter in small pan. Add in brown sugar and stir till smooth. Add in cream and heat to a boil. Remove from heat and add in pecans.
  4. Carefully spread over top of baked pie. Place pie in oven and bake 5 - 8 min, till topping is browned and bubbly. Serve pie hot with a dollop of whipped cream and a dash of cinnamon (optional). The nice thing about this pie is it will last over a week if kept in the fridge.
