  • 2 lrg Granny Smith apples skins on, and thinly sliced
  • 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. honey
  • 1 Tbsp. unbleached white flour
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 c. shredded low-fat cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 c. unbleached white flour
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. low-calorie margarine
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg Water as needed

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Combine the apples with the brown sugar, honey, 1 Tbsp. flour, and cinnamon. Toss well.
  2. Divide the apple mix among 6 custard c.. Sprinkle each tart with some cheese.
  3. Combine 1/2 c. flour, sugar, margarine, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Sprinkle proportionately over the tarts. Sprinkle with a little water to moisten.
  4. Bake till the apples are cooked and the topping is browned, about 20 min.
  5. This recipe yields 6 servings.
