Directions

  1. In a saucepan bring the broth to a boil with the onion. Boil the
  2. mixture for 5 minutes, and let it cool.
  3. In a food processor chop fine the garlic and the chiles; add the
  4. cream cheese, sour cream and cumin.
  5. Blend the mixture until it is
  6. combined well. With the motor running add the broth mixture in a
  7. steady stream. Blend the mixture until it is combined well, and
  8. transfer it to a large bowl.
  9. Stir in the half-and-half, white pepper and salt to taste, and chill
  10. the soup, covered, for at least 2 hours or overnight.
