Ingredients

  • 4 Tbs of vegetable oil (I use coconut oil)
  • 1/2 cup of roasted unsalted peanuts
  • 1/4 cup of sesame seeds
  • 8 large shallots
  • 1/2 tsp brown mustard seeds
  • 10 fresh curry leaves (if you have them)
  • 1 red onion finely chopped
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1/2 Tbs tamarind pulp or lemon juice
  • A 1 inch piece of fresh ginger peeled and chopped
  • 1 Tbs coriander seeds
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 2 dried red chilies broken into pieces
  • 3/4 sp of salt
