  • 2 doz large shrimp - (abt 1 lb)
  • 1/4 lb unsalted butter plus
  • 5 Tbsp. unsalted butter
  • 1 1/2 tsp chopped garlic
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 c. beer at room temperature
  • 1 tsp grnd red pepper (preferably cayenne)
  • 1 tsp freshly-grnd black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper
  • 1/2 tsp dry thyme leaves
  • 1/2 tsp dry rosemary leaves crushed
  • 1/8 tsp dry oregano leaves

Directions

  1. Rinse the shrimp in cool water and drain well. Peel and devein shrimp. Set aside.
  2. In a small bowl, combine seasoning mix ingredients. Combine 1 stick butter, garlic, Worcestershire sauce and seasoning fold in a large skillet over high heat. When the butter is melted, add in the shrimp. Cook for 2 min, shaking the pan (do not stir) in a back-and-forth motion. Add in remaining 5 Tbsp. butter, cook and shake pan for 2 min. Add in beer and cook and shake the pan 1 minute longer. Remove from heat.
  3. Serve immediately in bowls with lots of French bread on the side or possibly on a platter with cooked rice mounded in the middle and the shrimp and sauce surrounding it.
  4. This recipe yields 3 or possibly 4 servings as an appetizer or possibly 2 entree servings.
