This recipe could not be easier and you can use whatever you have for fruit either fresh or canned. I had wanted to try a “cup a” recipe for a while now and when I saw the wonderful fresh blackberries at a local market I snatched them up and asked my friend at work for her recipe and voila!

Ingredients

Cost per serving $0.69 view details
  • 1 cup self-rising flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh fruit (I like a little more than 1 cup)

Directions

  1. Melt butter and pour into an 8 x 8 inch baking dish. Mix together flour, sugar and milk. Pour over the melted butter. Place the fruit on the flour mixture starting in the middle of the batter. (The fruit will spread out when the flour rises up and over it). Bake in a 375 degree oven for approximately 45 to 55 minutes (until it turns golden brown).
