%20with%20me%20last%20week;%20I%20have%20to%20admit%20I%20had%20never%20heard%20of%20it.%20Still,%20I%20thought%20it%20was%20not%20only%20so%20cute%20but%20just%20perfect%20for%20St%20Patty%E2%80%99s%20Paddy%E2%80%99s%20Day.%20You%20might%20wonder%20what%20the%20big%20deal%20is%20about%20putting%20a%20beer%20into%20a%20small%20glass%20and%20calling%20it%20a%20cocktail%20but%20hold%20on%20my%20friends%E2%80%A6there%20is%20more%20to%20this%20than%20a%20first%20glance%20will%20tell.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20wanted%20something%20quintessentially%20Irish%20since%20I%E2%80%99m%20part%20Irish%20and%20St.%20Patrick%E2%80%99s%20Day%20is%20Sunday.%20What%20could%20be%20better%20than%20a%20little%20mini%20pour%20of%20Guinness%20right?%20Well,%20except%20it%E2%80%99s%20not%20really%20Guinness.%20Nope%E2%80%A6it%E2%80%99s%20simply%20Kahlua%20topped%20with%20some%20Bailey%E2%80%99s%20Irish%20Liqueur.%20Whew%E2%80%A6at%20least%20I%20have%20that%20old%20Irish%20standard%20included%20or%20this%20would%20hardly%20qualify%20as%20a%20cocktail%20for%20an%20Irish%20holiday.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWait%E2%80%A6don%E2%80%99t%20tell%20me%20that%20Bailey%E2%80%99s%20isn%E2%80%99t%20really%20Irish?%20OK,%20it%E2%80%99s%20sort%20of%20like%20me;%20part%20Irish.%20Over%2075%25%20of%20the%20raw%20ingredients%20and%20packaging%20used%20to%20make%20and%20present%20Baileys%20is%20sourced%20from%20the%20island%20of%20Ireland.%20The%20cream%20is%20fresh%20dairy%20cream%20that%20comes%20from%20pasture%20fed%20cows%20in%20Ireland.%20The%20whiskey%20is%20Irish%20Whiskey%20supplied%20from%20a%20number%20of%20distilleries%20including%20The%20Old%20Bushmills%20Distillery,%20County%20Antrim.%20That%20would%20seem%20to%20substantiate%20authenticity%20(except%20for%20that%20elusive%2025%25)%20but%20the%20truth%20is%20that%20it%E2%80%99s%20not%20some%20historic%20brew%20that%E2%80%99s%20been%20around%20since%20the%20days%20of%20St.%20Patrick%20so%20while%20good%20and%20thankfully%20NOT%20green,%20it%E2%80%99s%20a%20late%20addition%20to%20the%20party;%20debuting%20in%201974.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETruth%20be%20told,%20it%20seems%20folks%20in%20the%20US%20have%20a%20propensity%20for%20taking%20over%20holidays%20and%20making%20them%20their%20own.%20Do%20you%20know%20that%20corned%20beef%20and%20cabbage%20is%20not%20a%20big%20deal%20in%20Ireland?%20Made%20available%20primarily%20in%20locations%20that%20serve%20a%20big%20tourist%20trade,%20it%E2%80%99s%20not%20something%20that%20the%20regular%20folks%20in%20Ireland%20consider%20all%20that%20important.%20The%20colcannon%20I%20made%20earlier%20this%20week%20is%20a%20more%20traditional%20Irish%20dish%20and%20in%20my%20mind,%20certainly%20a%20more%20delicious%20one!%20For%20some%20additional%20examples%20of%20%E2%80%98Irish%20but%20not%20Really,%E2%80%99%20check%20out%20this%20post%20from%20the%20Mouth%20From%20the%20South;%20it%20made%20me%20smile.%20No%20blarney!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhether%20Irish%20or%20not%E2%80%A6I%20really%20liked%20this.%20It%E2%80%99s%20not%20just%20cute,%20it%E2%80%99s%20a%20sweet%20ending%20too.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBaby%20Guinness%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIngredients%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreparation%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFill%20a%20shot%20glass%20about%203/4%20full%20with%20coffee%20liqueur.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPour%20the%20Irish%20cream%20over%20the%20back%20of%20a%20spoon,%20down%20the%20side%20of%20the%20glass.%20It%20should%20layer%20on%20top%20of%20the%20Kahlua%20and%20form%20the%20'head'%20that%20makes%20it%20look%20like%20Guinness.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENotes%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENot%20just%20cute,%20these%20are%20a%20very%20tasty%20after%20dinner%20cocktail.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E2.2%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ehttp://www.creative-culinary.com/baby-guinness/%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20recipe%20brought%20to%20you%20by%20%C3%82%C2%A9%20%3Cb%3ECreative%20Culinary%3C/b%3E%20%7C%20A%20Food%20and%20Cocktail%20Blog%20%7C%20Website:%20www.creative-culinary.com%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
