Ingredients
- 2 c. flour
- 2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1 c. water
- 1/4 c. cocoa
- 2 beaten large eggs
- 1/2 c. buttermilk
- 1/4 c. buttermilk
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon soda
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1/3 c. whole lowfat milk
- 1/4 c. cocoa
- 1 (1 pound) box powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Directions
- Sift flour and sugar. Bring to a boil the shortening, butter, water and cocoa. Pour the boiling mix over the flour and sugar. Add in large eggs, buttermilk, salt, soda, vanilla and cinnamon. Pour into well-greased 13x20 inch pan and bake for 15-18 min on 400 degrees.
- Heat butter, lowfat milk and cocoa. Bring this to a boil and then add in the sugar and vanilla. Pour this mix over the hot cake and sprinkle with nuts.
