i understand you more than you could think. i've been living abroad for several years and wherever people has a very distorted view on italian (and blognese) cuisine. most of the people think that you just need to add garlic, basil, pesto, parmesan or pepperoni and it becomes truly italian! much too often we read pasta or spaghetti "bolognese" which really exist world wide, anywhere BUT in Bologna! so weird! we have tagliatelle al ragù. it's ragù not bolognese just "ragù" =))
