About me
Before "retirement" in 2012, I owned Cookin' Cowgirls, a catering company.
I love Tex-Mex because it's anything you want to wave a jalapeno at, but it sure can be delicious. Plus, I llike bbq and many comfort foods.
I'm making homemade condiments and seasonings these days. Bread and baked goods are a new hobby, too.
In the pictures above, the border collie/beagle mix is "Bonnie." The wolfman-looking Cairn terrier mix is "Skeeter." They like to supervise what gets prepared at home - just in case.
My Recipe Taglines:
For a Large Group:12 or more people.
Sunday Supper: Main dish comfort foods that have a sauce, or gravy, and their side dishes.
Tex - Mex: Mexican/American fusion foods.
Easy: Minimum prep and/or just a few ingredients.
Also, if you need a hard to find Mexican ingredient, email me and I can make suggestions on where to find it, or how to make it yourself, or we can swap items of equal value via mail.
Cooking Influences
Growing up in Texas, which is known for bbq and Tex-Mex, got me interested in learning how to cook those foods. Since I have also lived in several other countries, I developed an interest in Greek, Mexican, and Italian fare, of which I used to cater a fair amount, particularly for weddings.
