About me
I am a home cook and my training has mainly consisted of watching and learning from my Mom and Grandmothers while they made some of my favorite recipes.
I have a wonderful husband and young child and reside in Wisconsin. I grew up on a fairly large dairy farm so there was plenty of cooking to be done to feeding the family and hired help.
I grew up on all the good stuff...whole milk, butter, sour cream, cream cheese and cottage cheese. My tastes have changed over the years and really love Italian, Mexican, and Mediterranean cooking. I also love spicy dishes - the spicier the better.
Cooking Influences
My Mom and both Grandmas had a lot of influence on learning to bake and cook.
In 1998, my Grandma passed away and I received her recipe box. Every recipe was handwritten and had a tale to tell. Some had stains from years of use. Some were from friends from years ago. Some were just labeled "good".
A few years before my Grandma died, she had organized the box and it contained all of her best recipes. I could tell the ones that she had held on to for many years, as the handwriting was sure and strong. In many of the newer recipes, her handwriting was weaker and a bit harder to read.
As a tribute to my Grandma, I started the website http://www.breakfast-and-brunch-recipes.com, which contains many of her tried and true recipes.

- February 23, 2019I just prepared the Old Fashion Bread Pudding recipe and the ingredients called for sugar but didn't find in the directions when to add it. So, I just added it when I added the brown sugar.1 reply
