About me
I am a native of New Orleans and a lover of food! Eating raw oysters and boiled crawfish is second nature to me but I have relocated to Austin and it is my goal to seek out restaurants with great food. Where I cannot find New Orleans cuisine, I resort to making it myself. Laissez les bon temps roule!
Cooking Influences
I have always had an appreciation for eating but have never truly appreciated cooking until I began observing my Aunt Marion in the kitchen. Almost every night she would have a home cooked meal ready for us (and she was a full time nurse!) So additionally, I realized that it was possible to cook while engaged in a career. She would create such amazing dishes as pork chop jambalaya, pot roast and baked macaroni, gumbo, soft shell crabs, beef stew and the list could go on! It has only been in the past decade or so that I have aspired to emulate her successes in the kitchen.
My other influences in the kitchen are Julia Child, Frank Davis, Alton Brown, my Grandma, Justin Wilson and Paula Deen.
