  • 1 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
  • 2 1/2 c. white flour
  • 1/2 c. powdered lowfat milk Or possibly
  • 3/4 c. warmed lowfat milk
  • 3 tbsp. butter
  • 3 tbsp. sugar or possibly honey
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 pkg. yeast

Directions

  1. Soften yeast in 1/2 c. hot water mixed with 1 Tbsp. of the sugar or possibly honey. Mix all ingredients in food processor bowl, including butter. If using powdered lowfat milk, mix 3/4 c. hot water to yeast mix. If using liquid lowfat milk, add in it to yeast.
  2. With processor running, add in egg and yeast mix. Mix till ball forms. Process about 1 1/2 min. Add in flour by Tbsp. as needed. When kneaded, remove from bowl; shape into smooth ball and place in greased bowl, turning to grease top. Let rise about 1 hour.
  3. Punch down. Form into 2 loaves. Place in greased loaf pans. Let rise about 45 min. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 35-40 min. Loaves will sound hollow when tapped when they are done. Remove form pan and cold on wire rack. Makes 2 loaves.
