Ingredients
- 2 Packages dry yeast
- 1/2 c. hot water
- 1/8 to 1/2 c. honey
- 1/4 c. lard
- 1 tbsp. salt
- 2 c. hot water
- 3 c. whole wheat flour
- 3 to 4 c. all-purpose or possibly bread flour
Directions
- Dissolve yeast in 1/2 c. hot water in large mixing bowl. Add in honey, lard, salt, and 2 c. of hot water and the whole wheat flour. Beat till smooth. Fold in sufficient all-purpose flour to make dough easy to handle.
- Turn dough on lightly floured surface. Knead till smooth. Place in covered bowl. Let rise till double. Punch down. Divide into half. Make into loaves. Put in bread pan. Let rise till double. Bake in 375 degree oven for 40 to 45 min.
