Directions

  1. Heat butter in saucepan and stir in flour to make a paste. Add in 1/4 c. lowfat milk and stir (never stop stirring). Add in another 1/4 c. lowfat milk and stir till it thickens.
  2. Each time sauce thickens, add in 1/4 c. lowfat milk, stirring constantly. Continue adding lowfat milk till 1 1/2 c. are used.
  3. To make a cheesy sauce, add in 4 slices American cheese, broken up. After cheese has melted, sauce is ready to pour over prepared vegetables. This recipe is good over potatoes, cauliflower, broccoli, Brussel sprouts; it is especially tasty on macaroni.
