Directions

  1. 1. Refrigerate the mixing bowl and whisk for 30 minutes. DO NOT skip this step!
  2. 2. In a small saucepan place the powdered sugar and cornstarch and gradually stir in 1/4 cup of the cream.
  3. 3. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, and simmer until the liquid is thickened.
  4. 4. Scrape into a small bowl and cool completely to room temperature.
  5. 5. Stir in the vanilla.
  6. 6. Use an electric mixer fitted with the mixing bowl and whisk form the refrigerator add 3/4 cup cream and mix on high for one minute.
  7. 7. Turn mixer to low and add the cornstarch mixture in a steady stream
  8. 8 Turn mixer to high and beat until stiff.
