Weekend Getaway to Baltimore and Washington DC

This past weekend Kurt and I embarked on a road trip to Baltimore with a quick stop over at Washington DC. We drove in on Saturday night and headed straight to our favorite place, LP Steamers for Maryland Blue Crab only to find out that they had run out. The place looked so packed no wonder they had no crab left. After driving for two hours, we were determined to find crab. If you’ve tried Maryland blue crab before you know that it’s worth the travel. It’s a trip that we take many times each year. %20had%20about%20seven%20all%20by%20myself.%20The%20next%20morning%20we%20headed%20down%20to%20Hot%20N%20Juicy%20Crawfish%20in%20Washington%20DC%20to%20continue%20our%20foodie%20adventure.%20%20For%20some%20people%20it%E2%80%99s%20about%20their%20taste%20buds%20doing%20the%20tango,%20for%20others%20it%E2%80%99s%20about%20the%20bags%20of%20steaming%20juicy%20shrimp,%20corn,%20crawfish%20or%20whatever%20seafood%20your%20heart%20desires.%20For%20us%20it%E2%80%99s%20about%20the%20experience%20of%20rolling%20up%20our%20sleeves,%20removing%20our%20jewelry%20and%20getting%20into%20it%20up%20to%20our%20elbows%20while%20completely%20overindulging.%20We%20started%20with%20a%20mixed%20bag%20affectionately%20called%20The%20Drool.%20As%20if%20fried%20calamari,%201/2lb%20shrimp,%201lb%20crawfish,%20sausage,%20potatoes,%20corn%20and%20snow%20crab%20legs%20wasn%E2%80%99t%20enough%20we%20ordered%20another%20pound%20of%20shrimp%20and%20a%20pound%20mussels.%20I%20seriously%20don%E2%80%99t%20know%20where%20it%20all%20fit.%20I%20think%20may%20have%20gone%20into%20food%20coma.%20The%20wonderful%20waitress%20even%20took%20our%20picture%20for%20their%20Instagram.%20Just%20like%20that%20we%20became%20local%20celebrities.%20Not.%20Haha.%20What%20happened%20next%20was%20a%20blur.%20I%20remember%20falling%20down%20the%20stairs%20as%20we%20were%20leaving%20the%20restaurant%20and%20saying%20our%20goodbyes%20to%20the%20great%20staff.%20Embarrassing%E2%80%A6%E2%80%A6%20yeah%E2%80%A6.%20to%20my%20defense,%20the%20steps%20were%20wet.%20Why%20am%20I%20so%20clumsy?%20I%20can%20do%20an%20entire%20post%20just%20about%20my%20clumsiness.%20I%E2%80%99ll%20save%20the%20story%20for%20another%20time.%20Only%20traveling%20to%20DC%20once%20before%20and%20not%20seeing%20the%20White%20House,%20we%20decided%20to%20do%20a%20little%20site%20seeing.%20After%20all,%20how%20can%20I%20visit%20our%20Nation%E2%80%99s%20capital%20without%20seeing%20the%20White%20House?%20Why%20does%20time%20fly%20by%20so%20fast%20when%20you%E2%80%99re%20having%20fun?%20At%20least%20vacation%20is%20right%20around%20the%20corner.%20Soon%20enough%20I%E2%80%99ll%20be%20in%20Lake%20Tahoe%20and%20Reno%20having%20a%20great%20time.%20Until%20then%20it%E2%80%99s%20work,%20work,%20work.%20Well,%20maybe%20a%20little%20fun%20in%20between.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
