Vintage Fruitcake Recipe
This recipe uses a nice fruity wine to make it a winner!

- In a large bowl, mix together candied fruit, raisins, dates, nuts, and pineapple.
- Pour wine over fruits and set aside.
- Cream shortening, brown sugar, and spices together
- until fluffy.
- Mix in beaten eggs.
- Add flour, baking powder, and baking soda, and
- beat well.
- Add fruit mixture, and mix well.
- Pour batter into 2 large loaf pans or 6 minature pans.
- Bake at 300 degrees for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
- Cool and wrap with foil. Store for at least 1 week before cutting
- for best flavor.
- They are tasty and make really nice gifts, esp. the little ones!
