  • Ingredients:
  • 1 cup whole green moong
  • 1 potato, chopped lengthwise with skin on
  • 2 tsp oil
  • For the masala:
  • 1/4 cup grated fresh coconut (or frozen coconut)
  • 1/2 tsp koli masala (you can buy some here)
  • salt - to taste
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric
  • 1/2 inch ginger, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • a small bunch of fresh cilantro or coriander leaves
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
