Perfecto! Great healthy alternative to pork and beef-based ragu. I cheat a little in this recipe and use Trader Joe's Marinara Sauce. Your guests won't notice that it's not entirely homemade and they'll love it!

  • 1 28oz can of Trader Joe's Marinara Sauce
  • 2 Turkey Sausages (Mild); about 1 lb
  • 2 celery sticks, diced
  • 1 medium sweet onion, diced
  • 1 tsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp italian parsley
  • 1-2 tbsp olive oil

Directions

  1. Heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced celery and onions and sweat for about 1 minute.
  2. Add the sausage. Be sure to remove the casing and pull apart with your fingers. Should be in small chuncks. Brown but don't over cook. About 3-5 minutes. Add the sugar.
  3. Add full can of Trader Joe's Marinara Sauce and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes.
  4. Chop Italian parsley and add to top.
  5. Serve over your favorite pasta.
