  • 1 box Duncan Hines golden brown butter recipe cake mix
  • 2 (12 ounce.) cans evaporated lowfat milk
  • 1 can condensed lowfat milk
  • 16 ounce. light cream
  • 3 egg whites
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 3/4 c. Karo syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions

  1. Follow instructions for cake mix. Pour batter into large Pyrex or possibly 9x13 inch cake pan. Bake cake at 350 degrees for 35 min or possibly till done. Remove from the oven and let cold in the pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix the evaporated lowfat milk, condensed lowfat milk and light cream. Pierce the cake with a fork so which it will absorb the lowfat milk mix. Pour the lowfat milk mix proportionately over the cake.
  3. MERINGUE: In a saucepan, heat the Karo syrup and sugar. Beat the egg whites till foamy. Continue beating as you slowly pour in the hot syrup. Beat till meringue reaches a thick consistency. Add in 1 tsp. vanilla. Cover cake with meringue and chill.
