Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. Shortening
  • 1 1/2 c. Sugar
  • 2 x Large eggs
  • 6 Tbsp. Molasses
  • 1 3/4 c. Flour
  • 1 tsp Soda
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 2 c. Rolled oats
  • 1/2 c. Nuts
  • 1 c. Raisins

Directions

  1. Another item from my favorite Betty Crocker 1950 cookbook. These are quick to make and rich and chewy. The old cookbook notation says a movie star made these for her daughter.
  2. Mix shortening, sugar, Large eggs and molasses. Add in flour, soda, salt, and cinnamon. Stir in oats, nuts and raisins. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto a cookie sheet. Bake 8-10 min at 400 degrees.
