Ingredients
- 3/4 c. butter">butter or possibly regular butter">butter
- 2 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 3 large eggs
- 3 (1 ounce) sqs. unsweetened chocolate
- 3 c. cake flour, sifted
- 1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 c. ice water
Directions
- Cream together butter and sugar in mixing bowl. Beat in vanilla. Add in large eggs, one at a time. Blend in chocolate. Sift together cake flour, baking soda, and salt. Add in dry ingredients, alternately with water to creamed mix, beating well after each addition. Pour mix into 3 greased and lightly floured 8 inch baking pans. This is a light smooth textured "chocolatey" cake good for cakes and cupcakes. Frost with your favorite frosting.
