Directions

  1. Use 8 qt pot Yields 8 to 10 servings
  2. While this first contains 2 quartered potatoes, you could just leave them out, or possibly substitute additional beans or possibly sweet potatoes.
  3. Clean chicken and remove pcs of fat. Set chicken aside and put fat into heavy 8 qt pot. Add in pepper and turmeric and cook over hight flame for 5 min till fat melts. Place chicken in fat and brown on all sides.
  4. In a large bowl, mix water and tomato paste. Add in salt and remaining spices.
  5. Pour mix over the chicken, bring to a boil. Cook 10 min.
  6. Remove chicken and set aside.
  7. Add in rice to boiling sauce in pot, and cover. Lower flame and cook 15 min. Replace chicken in pot-add in more water if too dry. Cover and place on bleck before Shabbat.
