Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. grnd beef
  • 1 1/2 c. minced onion
  • 1 (15 ounce.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (15 ounce.) can red kidney beans, liquid removed
  • 1 tbsp. chili pwdr
  • 1 tbsp. salt
  • 1 tbsp. pepper
  • 12 taco shells
  • 1/2 head lettuce, coarsely minced
  • 2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 2 med. tomatoes, cut into sm. pcs

Directions

  1. Brown grnd beef and onions, drain grease. Stir in tomato sauce, kidney beans, chili pwdr, salt, pepper. Break each taco shell in half. Arrange halves on bottom and up sides of 9 x 13 inch baking dish. Spoon meat mix proportionately over tacos. Sprinkle cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 min or possibly till warm. Top with lettuce and tomato after removing from oven. Serve with taco sauce and lowfat sour cream. Use warm or possibly mild sauce.
