Ingredients
- 1Â 1/2 c. Minced onion
- 1 c. Minced celery
- 2 cl Garlic, chopped
- 8 c. Water
- 1 c. Diced carrot
- 1 x Bay leaf
- 1 Tbsp. Soy sauce
- 1/4 tsp Fresh grnd black pepper
- 1/4 tsp Dry rosemary, crushed
- 1Â 1/8 c. Green split peas
- 1Â 1/8 c. Lentils
Directions
- In a large saucepan, saute/fry the onion, celery, and garlic in 1/2 c. of the water till the vegetables are tender, about 5 min. Add in the carrot, remaining 7-1/2 c. water, bay leaf, soy sauce, pepper and rosemary. Heat to boiling. Stir in the peas and lentils. Simmer, covered, for 45 min, stirring occasionally.
