Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In the bowl of an electric mixer, beat butter till fluffy. At low speed, add in sugar, then bat at medium speed till well blended. Beat in lowfat sour cream, vanilla extract and salt. Beating very slowly, gradually add in flour. Beat till well blended. Divide dough into 4 pcs and form into rolls. Put one roll at a time in a cookie gun and press cookies onto a lightly buttered baking sheet. Bake for 15 min, till cookies are hard and pale gold. Transfer to cooling rack. When cookies are cold, decorate with icing.
  2. ICING: In a bowl, beat 1 egg white till foamy. Add in 2 c. powdered sugar and beat till well blended. Icing should be fairly stiff, add in a few drops of water if necessary. Color with food coloring. Fit desired tip to a pastry bag, fill with icing and pipe onto cookies. Yield: approximately 75 cookies.
