Slow Cooker Beef Brisket Sliders Recipe
by Anne-Marie Nichols

Are you looking for a slow cooker tailgating recipe that’s sure to please everyone? Well, my friend and frequent contributor, Holly Clegg, has come up with the perfect party recipe – Slow Cooker Beef Brisket Sliders.

I love sliders, because they keep the portion size reasonable. Plus, they’re so much easier to eat than a huge sandwich when you’re balancing a plate in front of the TV set or outside at a tailgate event. For those gluten free folks who can’t eat the slider buns, serve this as a Slow Cooker Beef Brisket. However, the hamburger buns that Udi’s Gluten Free makes are pretty small, so you may want to buy a bag.

A terrific side dish that would go well with beef brisket sliders would be Brussels Sprout and Apple Slaw with Balsamic Vinaigrette, Spicy Celery Root & Carrot Slaw Salad, or Wasabi Avocado Coleslaw. Score one for the tailgating team!

When creating the Crock Pot Convenience chapter in Kitchen 101: Secrets to Cooking Confidence, I set out to find the best crock pot recipes and had so much fun doing it. The ultimate in convenience cooking, slow cookers enable you to cook on your own schedule and what could be better at the end of a long hard day, then a healthy and delicious home-cooked meal, that practically cooked itself!

My trim and terrific Beef Brisket has sensational flavor without the work and you won’t have to think about this easy meal until you pull the tender meat out of the pot – even though the delightful smell will fill your kitchen hours before it’s done. Added to a roll or bun, with Brie cheese, and red onion, this multi-function meal is a hearty pick up perfect for your next tailgate party. This Mama’s tips

Not all dry onion soup mixes are gluten free. Make sure to check the label! One brand I really like is the onion soup mix made by Trader Joe’s. It’s not certified as gluten free, but the ingredients list looks safe enough.

Also, when making the brisket in the slow cook, toss in some potatoes, sweet potatoes and carrots, if you desire.
