Ingredients
- 1 c. lowfat milk, scalded
- 1 c. warm water
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 1/4 ounce pkg. yeast (dissolved in 3 T of lukewarm water)
- 6 c. sifted flour
Directions
- Put together first four ingredients. Stir till dissolved. Cool to lukewarm. Add in beaten large eggs and yeast. Blend well. Add in flour and mix well. Mix will be loose and spongy. Cover and let rise till doubled in bulk. Work down and cover for several hrs. Remove from bowl and knead till smooth. Roll dough on lightly floured board till about the thickness of a biscuit. Cut in circles. Put on lightly greased pan. Bake at 400 degrees for about 5 or possibly 6 min. Makes 5 to 6 dozen.
