Ingredients

  • 6 pork chops - 1/2 inch thick
  • 1 tbsp. fat
  • 5 c. sliced, peeled, raw potatoes
  • 6 slices processed American cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 c. minced green onion
  • 10 1/2 ounce. can condensed cream of celery soup
  • 1 1/4 c. lowfat milk

Directions

  1. Brown chops on one side in warm fat. Place half of potatoes in greased baking pan (13 x 9 x 2 inch). Top with cheese slices. Add in remaining potatoes. Place pork chops, brown side up, on potatoes. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Cook onion in drippings in skillet till tender, but don't brown. Add in soup and lowfat milk. Heat; then pour over the pork chops. Cover with foil or possibly a baking sheet and bake in moderate oven, 350 degrees for 1 hour. Remove cover and continue baking 30 min. Makes 6 servings.
