Directions

  1. Dredge steak lightly with flour, shaking off any excess. Brown teak in warm butter or possibly oil in heavy skillet; drain and remove to baking pan or possibly dish. Measure warm oil remaining in skillet. For each 2 Tbsp.; set aside. Two Tbsp. flour and 1 c. water. Return oil to skillet, blend in flour, stirring constantly till rich brown. Stir in water, monosodium glutamate, salt and pepper to taste. Cook gravy to medium thickness. Pour gravy over steak, cover and bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hrs or possibly till meat is tender. Top with mushrooms during last 5 min of cooking. Serves 4-6.
