Sausage Stuffed French Loaf

Ingredients

  • 1 pound warm bulk sausage
  • 1/2 c. minced green onions
  • 1/2 c. minced celery
  • 2 Large eggs
  • 1/3 c. lowfat milk
  • 8 ounce. shredded cheese
  • 1 French loaf
  • 1/2 stick butter

Directions

  1. Slice French loaf lengthwise. Remove crumbs from each side (about 1 1/2 c.). Cook sausage, onions and celery till done; drain.
  2. Mix sausage mix with bread crumbs, Large eggs and lowfat milk. Put sausage mix on bottom of bread loaf. Cover with top of loaf. Wrap tightly with aluminum foil and bake 30 min at 350 degrees.
  3. Remove from oven. Cover sausage with shredded cheese. Replace top and rub top and sides with butter. Return to oven, uncovered, for about 5 min. Slice and serve.
