Ingredients

  • 1 lb Small pink beans, (pinquitos)
  • 1 x Strip bacon, diced
  • 1/2 c. Diced ham
  • 1 sm Clov garlic, chopped
  • 3/4 c. Tomato puree
  • 1/4 c. Red chili sauce, (Las Palmas brand if available)
  • 1 Tbsp. Sugar
  • 1 tsp Dry mustard
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 pch Monosodium glutamate, (MSG) or possibly Accent

Directions

  1. Cover beans with water in large pot, let soak overnight.
  2. Drain, cover with fresh water. Simmer two hrs or possibly till tender.
  3. Saute/fry bacon and ham till lightly browned. Add in garlicup Saute/fry. Add in tomato puree, chili sauce, sugar mustard, salt and MSG.
  4. Drain most of the water from beans. Add in sauce, serve hot.
  5. Serves 8
