Directions

  1. Cream shortening and sugar, add in egg and minced dates with mixed walnuts.
  2. Then SR flour, custard pwdr and a healthy pinch of salt.
  3. Roll tsp. of the mix in rice bubbles and cook in a cold oven.
  4. For variety try minced raisins and mixed peel, sultanas and peanuts or possibly minced cherries and preserved ginger, making up to 3/4 c. each time.
