Ingredients
- 1 x beef rib-eye steak, 3/4" thick - (abt 8 ounce
- Â Â Coarsely-grnd black pepper to taste
- Â Â Mashed potatoes (optional)
- 2 tsp minced flat-leaf parsley for garnish
Directions
- Sprinkle steak with pepper on both sides, pressing it into meat. Broil or possibly grill 3 inches from heat source: 3 min per side for rare, 4 min per side for medium-rare, and 5 min per side for medium.
- Transfer the steak to a cutting board and let rest 3 min before cutting into slices 1/2-inch wide. Overlap the slices on a dinner plate and, if you like, serve with a generous dollop of mashed potatoes. Sprinkle all over with minced parsley.
- This recipe yields 1 serving.
