This red chutney is my mother-in-law's best make. She serves this with her signature mixture dosa and hot piping sambhar on the weekend mornings...... it is yummy . You can have it with Lemon rice, Curd rice and Upma too.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup shredded coconut( you can use the frozen one in the indian store )
- 1/2 inch ginger
- 4 madras onions or shallots
- 5 curry leaves
- salt to taste
- 1/2 - 1 teaspoon( as and how hot you want ) red chillies pwd or more if you want
- 1 teaspoon Lemon juice or Unripe Mango
- 1-2 tablespoon water
Directions
- Combine everything in a mixture. Grind to a fine paste with as little water as possible.
- Adjust the taste of ginger, lemon, salt and red chillies if you want.
- Serve.
