Ingredients

  • 8 x Rasgullas, (either canned or possibly readymade)
  • 1 1/2 lt Cow's lowfat milk
  • 100 gm Sugar
  • 10 x Strands saffron
  • 1/4 c. Pistachios, sliced fine (40 g.)
  • 1/4 c. Almonds, sliced fine (40 g.)

Directions

  1. Soak the rasgullas in the lowfat milk for one hour. Remove from lowfat milk and set aside. Heat the lowfat milk and keep stirring till reduced to less than half its quantity. Add in sugar and keep stirring on a low heat for 10 more min until the sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat. Add in the condensed lowfat milk and stir well. Keep aside to cold. Add in the soaked rasgullas. Sprinkle the saffron. Don't stir the lowfat milk. Try not to disturb the container. Cold in the refrigerator overnight. Swirl the lowfat milk with a light hand before serving. This will give beautiful streaks of yellow (from the saffron) and the white of the lowfat milk. Garnish with almonds and pistachios.
