  • 1 1/2 tablespoons dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 8 cups chicken stock
  • 1 (29-ounce) can pure pumpkin purée
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1/2 cup toasted pepitas (pumpkin seeds; for topping)
  • 1 cup french fried onions (like French’s; for topping)
