  • 1 pound lean grnd beef
  • 1 lg. potato, pared & grated
  • 1/2 onion, minced
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon minced fresh parsley
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly grnd pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon dry leaf sage, crushed
  • 1 1/3 c. beef bouillon

Directions

  1. Thoroughly mix meat, potato, onion, egg, parsley, salt, pepper and sage. Shape into 6 patties 1/2 inch thick; brown in a skillet over medium heat. Reduce heat; add in bouillon. Cover and simmer about 35 min, depending on the thickness of patties. Remove patties from skillet and keep hot while preparing the following gravy.
  2. GRAVY: Scrape meat drippings from bottom of skillet. If you like, remove excess fat. Stir in flour and cook 3 min. Add in lowfat milk and bring to boil; taste for additional salt and pepper. Serve with patties. Garnish with a sprinkling of fresh parsley. Serves 6.
