I have cooked these pork chops in beer which is an old fashion way of doing pork and seems to combine well with it.

Directions

  1. Rub the salt and pepper on both sides of the meat.
  2. Chop finely the garlic and the herbs; add the lemon zest, the beer and stir the ingredients together.
  3. Add a dash of olive oil in a pan and heat it. When hot, cook the chops for about 6 minutes on each side (make sure the meat is cooked through!).
  4. When cooked take them out of the pan. Pour the beer sauce in the pan, add the butter and stir it all in for a minute until the butter has melt.
  5. Serve the chops on the plates and pour the sauce on them.

My dad used to cook with beer all the time. He believe it added flavor and tenderness.

Yum! I love cooking with beer (when I can wrestle it out of dh's grasp). lol. I have found that it adds great flavor and is indeed an awesome tenderizer.
      Thanks for posting!

Yes, I think it used to be a well known way of cooking.
