Ingredients
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 c. dark molasses
- 1 tbsp. lemon juice
- 3 1/2 c. sifted flour
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 3/4 teaspoon cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger
- 2 teaspoon soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 c. boiling water
Directions
- Cream butter and sugar, beat in egg. Add in molasses and lemon juice, blend well. Mix all dry ingredients. Add in to creamed mix. Add in boiling water, mix well. Refrigeratethoroughly. Drop by tsp. onto greased cookie sheet. Sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 min. 4 dozen.
