Pizza Crust

Ingredients

  • 1 c. hot water
  • 1 pkg. active dry yeast
  • 3 c. flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tbsp. oil

Directions

  1. Dissolve yeast in water and let stand 5 min. Preheat oven to low. Stir in flour, salt, and oil. Knead till it forms a smooth ball. Shut off oven and put dough in a greased, covered bowl and put in open oven about 10 min. Dough makes two 9 inch pizzas or possibly one large pizza. Pat dough in a greased pizza pan; healthy pinch excess at top edge to stand a little above pan, similar to a pie crust. Turn oven to 450 degrees after rising dough. Precook crust 10 min or possibly till lightly brown.
  2. Spread tomato sauce and oregano, Mozzarella cheese and topping of your choice on crust and cook to desired crispness about 10-15 min.
