Directions

  1. 1. Cream shortening and sugar, add in vanilla and beaten egg.
  2. 2. Sift dry ingredients together and add in alternately with lowfat milk to shortening mix. Beat till well blended.
  3. 3. Refrigerate15 min before rolling.
  4. 4. Roll 1/8" thick on floured board.
  5. 5. Cut 2" cookies. Place 1 tsp. filling in center and place another cookie on top. Press edges together.
  6. 6. Bake at 375 degrees till golden, approximately 8 to 10 min.
  7. 7. FILLING: Mix all ingredients and cook, stirring constantly till thick sufficient to spread between cookies.
