Pickled Beets (Amish Recipe)

Ingredients

  • 3 quarts. sm. beets
  • 3 c. vinegar
  • 2 tbsp. salt
  • 4 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 c. water
  • 2 cinnamon sticks (optional)

Directions

  1. Cook the beets as desired.
  2. Combine the rest of the ingredients and boil them to a syrup.
  3. Pour the boiling syrup over the beets in warm jars, then seal them. Cool pack them for 10-15 min.
