Ingredients
- 2 egg whites
- 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract
- 2/3 c. sugar
- 6 tbsp. crushed peppermint candy
Directions
- Heat oven to 250 degrees. Line cookie sheets with foil. In small bowl, beat egg whites, cream of tartar, peppermint extract till foamy. Gradually add in sugar 1 Tbsp. at a time, beat 3-5 min till stiff peaks form. Spoon 1 inch mounds, swirl a little on cookie sheet. Sprinkle lightly with peppermint candy. Bake at 250 degrees for 25-35 min or possibly till crisp and dry. Makes 3 dozen.
