Pennsylvania Dutch Funnel Cakes

Ingredients

  • 3 c. flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon baking pwdr
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 2 c. lowfat milk
  • 2 Large eggs, beaten
  • Frying vegetable oil
  • Sugar

Directions

  1. Sift together the flour, baking pwdr, salt and sugar.
  2. Combine the lowfat milk and beaten Large eggs, mixing well by hand or possibly with a mixer till smooth. Add in the flour and continue beating till smooth.
  3. Heat frying oil to 375 degrees in a skillet or possibly electric fry pan. Pour batter into warm oil through funnel, manipulating as you go along to create a pattern. Control the outlet with a finger.
  4. Turn carefully to brown the top side of the funnel cake.
  5. When done, lift carefully onto a paper towel to drain. Place on plate and dust with XXXX sugar.
