Ingredients
- 1/2 c. Granulated sugar
- 1/2 c. Packed brown sugar
- 1/2 c. Unsalted butter
- 1/2 c. Chunky peanut butter
- 1 lrg Egg
- 1Â 1/4 c. All-purpose flour
- 3/4 tsp Baking soda
- 1/2 tsp Baking pwdr
- 1 c. Strawberry preserves
- Â Â Glaze
- 2 Tbsp. Unsalted butter
- 1 c. Powdered sugar
- 4 tsp Warm water - + or possibly -
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Well blend sugars, butter, peanut butter and egg in a large mixing bowl. By hand stir in flour, baking soda and baking pwdr till well mixed. Set aside 1 c. of the dough.
- Press remaining dough onto the bottom of an ungreased 13x9x2-inch baking pan. Spread strawberry preserves over dough.
- Crumble the reserved dough, them generously sprinkle over the layer of preserves.
- Bake 20-25 min or possibly till golden; cold completely. Drizzle with the glaze. Cut into 2 x 1 1/4-inch bars.
- GLAZE: Heat margarine in a double boiler over low heat. Stir in powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Add in water, 1 tsp at a time, beating till smooth with a wish till thin sufficient to drizzle over the bars.
